The information in the book is fabulous and especially so if you have cd set and are either participating in the online Yale mooc Introduction to Classical Music or watching on youtube Listening to Music by the author who gives a great course, parts of which are included in the mooc.The problem with the book with that it is big, and for it's size, it is flimsy. It's a problem that only a publisher (I suppose) can fix. If it's hardback, it will be way to heavy. The paper should be different. I haven't seen the 5th edition which is the one referred to in both the class and the mooc so I don't know the difference. You have to use this book on a table or desk when actually, you would want to use it wherever you have music. If not for the paper, I would give it 5 stars. It is a fabulous introduction (and even more) to the entire subject. I love the mooc. I think Carig Wright is a special teacher with a great understand of the role of all art in our world.

Hi i think i accidently ordered two
Excellent. Used for a class, enjoyed it very much.
They didn't include 5 set of CDs, ther were only 3 of them
Did not receive all 5 CD's only got 2 out of 5

Only 2 CDs on the 5 I expected. Do I need to develop or is it clear the order was not complete and that I am pissed?
